If you plan on bringing your car, there is only one method of transportation that
accommodates vehicles, the Traditional Ferry run by
Interstate Navigation out of Point Judith, RI, which arrives in Old
Harbor. If you plan on
bringing your vehicle to the island, please book a reservation with
Interstate immediately upon finalizing your Rose Farm Inn reservation,
as it can be difficult on short notice to reserve the date/time that
you'd like, especially for summer weekends. The Rose Farm Inn has ample
free parking.
If you don't plan on bringing a car, then you have three other choices and departure points for High Speed ferries during Spring & Fall weekends, and daily during the summer months. The Interstate High Speed ferry out of Point Judith also docks in Old Harbor, and makes up to six round trips daily. If New London, CT (across from the Amtrak station) is most convenient for you, the Block Island Express makes up to four round trips daily, arriving in Old Harbor. If Long Island is best for you, the Viking Fleet out of Montauk makes one round trip per day in summer, and docks in New Harbor.
If you prefer to fly to Block Island, New England Airlines runs a daily schedule all year round with up to 15 round trips per day on summer weekends.
